Residenza San Gallo 79 B&b Florence - Where we are

Residenza San Gallo 79 B&B is located in the center of Florence in an inspiring 19th-century neighborhood, close to the exhibition center Fortezza Da Basso and the Palazzo Dei Congressi. It is also only 15 minutes away from central station Santa Maria Novella.

If you are traveling by car, you can reach us but you need to leave the car in an area called “Parterre” behind Piazza Della Libertà. Either you can park it at the “San Zanobi and Sant’Orsola” parking area in the homonymous streets, which are via San Zanobi and Via Sant’Orsola.

The Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore(the Duomo) is a 10-minute walk from us and even less is the Market of San Lorenzo.
In 5 minutes you will also get to the Galleria dell’Accademia where you can see the Michelangelo's David.

The street in which we are located is an ancient roman street that used to be called “Cardo Romano”, which means that it was one of the most important streets.
The bed and breakfast building faces one of the most beautiful buildings of Florence: Palazzo Pandolfini, renaissance style and ancient charm that you can only find in Florence. As soon as you get out of the b&b you will immediatly enter in the fascinating atmosphere of the old center of Florence.

In the same street of Residenza San Gallo 79, there are many other ancient buildings: convents, churches, hospitals among them. Many of them are nowadays used for other purposes but most likely you will be able to visit them and have a peak.
Some of them have little secret gardens that you can admire from the fences.
Another curiosity of our street is that it used to be known as the “booksellers street” due to the many bookshops that used to be active during past times.
